A meeting between the governments of Italy and Albania was held this Thursday in Rome.
Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke again about the European Union membership process, emphasizing that he wants Albania to be part of the EU even without voting rights.
“I can say that what Meloni said goes in the direction of deepening the relationship. We have one of the largest energy projects in Europe, which is moving forward. We are already working on another major project that will connect the east with the west, it will include Italy, Greece, Romania and it is of great strategic importance. We also have culture and if culture were not present, it would not be Italy either, this honors Italy and its minister. Finally, after so many years, we have a concrete agreement. I hope that the Italian art museum in Albania will be another concrete fact and that you will be the one who will open the doors of the museum.
Time will pass and it will show that I am right, I was wrong when I was younger as Minister of Culture, now that I am a veteran I do not believe that I am wrong. If starting work on these negotiations the responsibility will be Giorgia’s then we will be in safe hands. I have said that we are ready to make an agreement with the EU not to use the veto and the vote, we do not care. We are ready to sign. Here today is a historic day and if in other meetings, I have to say that with this level of hospitality, in this beautiful palace and with this atmosphere, in my opinion you have no second, you have no competition, I am biased, I am not objective with what I say”, said Rama.
